This site showcases two disparate media that each serve a utilitarian purpose while maintaining a visual appeal based on simple, elegant designs - midcentury modern collectibles and the iPhone applications I’ve created.

For several years, masonbrown.com showcased the works of my favorite midcentury modern designers in a stark, minimalist format – my reaction to the bloated, overly decorated website designs popular in the early 2000’s.  Today, sites like Facebook demonstrate the art of minimizing visual decoration while maximizing user experience.  With a little help from iWeb, this site has been updated with a new theme, new look, new technology and new content.

Midcentury modern collectibles and iPhone applications have both enhanced my life by their combination of functional utility and clean, simple, exceedingly beautiful visual style.  Although I have gradually strayed from active pursuit of increasingly popular collectibles, I increasingly enjoy combining my technical abilities with my all-too-often-neglected creativity, discovering that I too can create functional, beautiful things that may be enjoyed by others.
